Совет по делам прессы (образован в 1976 с целью охраны свободы прессы, поддержки высоких стандартов качества прессы, разбора конфликтных ситуаций; состоит из 13 членов: 4-х представителей Совета австралийских газет {Australian Newspapers Council}, одного представителя компании Региональные ежедневные издания Австралии {Regional Dailies of Australia Ltd}; одного представителя Ассоциации провинциальной прессы Австралии {Australian Provincial Press Association}, 3-х представителей Ассоциации журналистов Австралии {Australian Journalists' Association}, 3-х представителей общественности и независимого председателя)
